Caves, Lakes and Corvettes Region

If you're looking for adventure, there's no better place to find it than Kentucky's Caves, Lakes & Corvettes region, where you can experience some of the most magnificent natural attractions and full-throttle adventures in the Bluegrass State.

In 2021 Kentucky’s Caves, Lakes and Corvettes Region joined the world to celebrate the International Year of Caves & Karst. Cave-related landscapes exist all over the planet but we’re convinced that Kentucky has the best. Here are a few reasons:

  1.  Mammoth Cave National Park is the longest cave system in world with amazing rivers and almost 53,000 acres of above ground activities as well.

  2. We also have beautiful “show caves” with a wide variety of features and formations. The stalactite and stalagmite formations at Onyx CaveMammoth Onyx CaveCrystal Onyx CaveDiamond Caverns, and Outlaw Cave are spectacular.

  3. Our caves come with some pretty nifty man-made upgrades to enhance your enjoyment of nature - like boat rides in Lost River Cave and the world’s longest underground suspension bridge in Hidden River Cave/American Cave Museum.

  4. There’s so much more to do in our region!

More Things To Do In the Caves, Lakes & Corvettes Region

For an equally breathtaking experience, rev things up at the National Corvette Museum and GM Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green – the one and only place in the world where "America's Sports Car" is manufactured. You can even satisfy your need for speed on an adrenaline-racing test drive at NCM Motorsports Park. Other high-octane adventures in this region include ziplining and rappelling, kayaking, and riding the roller coasters at Beech Bend Park. Kids will love searching for prehistoric life at Dinosaur World, and visiting kangaroos and other Outback critters at Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo.

If the water is calling you, visit Barren River Lake State Resort Park or Nolin Lake State Park for fishing, boating, kayaking, and so much more. Or try one of the region’s canoe and kayak liveries for a fun river paddle. Top it all off with museums, quilt trail tours, Civil War battlefields and historic sites galore, from South Union Shaker Village to Octagon Hall Civil War Museum. Come for a festival, feast on local produce and sample the region’s outstanding craft distilleries, microbreweries and wineries.
