South Union Shaker Village

850 Shaker Museum Road
Auburn, Kentucky 42206

This former Shaker Village, an inventive, hardworking, religious community, was established in Logan County in 1807 and closed in 1922. The Centre Dwelling House, built in 1824, is now a museum filled with original Shaker furniture, crafts, textiles and personal artifacts. Open daily. Call for hours.

South Union today is more than just a memory. It is a place to visit and learn firsthand about the Shaker way of life. Several of the original buildings have been restored and now house a fine museum of Shaker folklife and material culture, a unique gift shop, and overnight lodgings.
